Building on the Senator’s leadership and calls for an immediate troop decline, the California for Edwards campaign today has launched a new campaign commercial addressing the significant issues related to the United States military involvement in Iraq. The new commercial addresses specifically the foundation of the war’s commencement, the financial and human costs associated with the American presence, as well as the devastation caused to the region in light of the now 5-year war.

The commercial builds upon the Senator’s call for a significant withdraw in Iraq, as well as other measures for the United States. These initiatives include an immediate withdraw 40‐50,000 troops, a full withdraw all combat troops within 9-10 months, the engagement of other nations to stabilize Iraq, the redeployment of troops outside of Iraq, the prohibition of permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq, as well as convening a regional peace conference to fully address post-U.S. governance for Iraq.
